Jack Is Two!

We had a little party for Jack and his pals for his birthday. I borrowed a kiddie pool and set up a slide. We put Jack in a swimmer diaper and let him have at it....

He wasn't so sure.

And Jack wanted to get out....

And Jack, well.... He had other things to do.




Like eat his birthday treats--a whole bowl of edammme and another full of olives. We told Jack he could have a bunch of olives for this birthday, so the whole day before he was going around screaming, "Olives at my birthday!" He ate about 2/3 of a can of olives. Yeah, I know. My kid is strange.

But he did love his McQueen cake.

And his presents. In the end, it was a fun day.

July 4th "Hike"

Over the July 4th weekend, we attempted to head into the mountains to go for a family hike. However, the traffic was so bad, we couldn't even make it to Golden. So we pulled off and ended up having a picnic next to a nice stream. We did hike for about 15 mins, but it was out in the open with no shade, and we couldn't handle the heat. We are heat wimps.

Jack's really become a climber these days. He never used to climb anything; now we can't keep him off stuff.

Granted, this one wasn't too high.

And believe it or not, Sam is already 3 months old!

Feeding Sam

The wonderful woman who watches Jack and Sam while I'm a work a few days a week sent me this. She took this pic on her phone, so the quality is terrible, but I couldn't resist putting it up here. Apparently, Jack really wanted to feed Sam and did a good job with it.
